We live in an age of images. Be it the constant stream of content in our Instagram feeds and Snapchat stories, the flood of ads we see anytime we step out our front door, or the countless moments filling up the camera rolls on our phones, images are everywhere.

Images have the power to evoke emotion, trigger memories, preserve powerful moments, and project information in amazing ways. As a church, we are increasingly realizing the huge benefit of consistently capturing our special services and events on camera – and that’s where you come in.

Our desire is to pull together a group of talented photographers who would be willing to use their photographic talents to serve in the church. Whether that be for all-church events like worship nights, special holiday services and baptisms, or simply taking photos around the church on a weekend, we’d love for you to be part of the team that documents the life of our church!

FAQs

DO I NEED SPECIFIC CAMERA GEAR TO BE PART OF THIS TEAM?

Absolutely not. If you have your own camera, you are more than welcome (and encouraged!) to use it. I firmly believe that you don’t need the most expensive gear on the market to capture meaningful moments, whatever gear you have will work great!

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE MY OWN CAMERA?

If you don’t have your own gear (or don’t wish to use it), we will provide a camera and lens kit for you to use!

HOW OFTEN WILL I BE ASKED TO SERVE?

Our hope and desire is that, with enough people on the team, we will only need to use you once every 6-10 weeks.

DO I NEED TO EDIT THE IMAGES I SHOOT?

Short answer, no – you’re more than welcome to send us un-edited jpegs. However, if you’d prefer to edit your images you are more than welcome to do so.

HOW WILL I DELIVER THE IMAGES I CAPTURE?

We will provide you with a link where you can log in and upload the images.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I BE ASKED TO DELIVER?

This will obviously vary with the type of event you’re capturing, but we’re hoping for 12-25 delivered images per event/service you shoot.

WHAT KIND OF TURNAROUND ARE YOU EXPECTING?

If you’re sending unedited jpegs, we’d ask that you choose the best images and upload them within 48 hours. If you’ve decided to edit your images, this timeframe will extend to 7 days.
